Tips for Icepits

By Dreads & Blek (Blake - bddc.co.uk) ·

Kill the titan, hold the ice and never get caught out of position — the Icepit rewards composure over chaos.

1. Overview & Objectives

The Icepit is an alliance battle for control of a contested zone on the ice. Success comes down to two clear objectives, in order:

  • Priority: Kill the titan.
  • Secondary priority: Loot the invaders — the HQs from other states that show up to contest the pit.

Icepits come in tiers, and a higher-tier pit is well worth fighting for. The goal for a strong alliance is to push for control of a Level 3 Icepit, but every level beyond Level 2 demands tighter discipline and better positioning.

2. Protect Your Main Squad

Treat the Icepit like Canyon Clash. The moment you send your main squad out of your HQ, your HQ becomes substantially weaker and you risk getting burned or zeroed.

  • Use your main squad wisely and deliberately — do not commit it carelessly.
  • Never get caught out of position with your strongest troops away from home.
Warning: This applies to almost everyone. An overextended main squad is the fastest way to lose your HQ and your spot on the ice.

3. Scout & Remove Invader HQs

Scout every single invader HQ that arrives at the Icepit. Information wins these fights. If an enemy is low on troops, your alliance should pounce immediately and remove them from the ice before they recover.

Acting slowly here is a real risk — alliances have lost a Level 2 Icepit simply because they did not start removing invader HQs quickly enough. Move early and decisively.

How to Remove an HQ

  1. Scout the target HQ.
  2. Share the report in alliance chat so everyone sees the troop count.
  3. Attack in sync. You can start a rally, but in these fast situations it is usually quicker to send multiple main tanks at the HQ and hit it together.

4. Teleport Positioning

Where you teleport depends on your HQ level. Position correctly before the event starts so you are not caught in the open.

HQ LevelWhere to Teleport
Up to Level 30Around the outside of the Icepit area.
Level 31 and higherDirectly onto the ice once the event starts.
Important: A Level 3 Icepit usually sits outside your own city territory. If you get caught out and blown up there, returning to the fight costs another Advanced Teleporter — so play smart and protect your position.

5. Communication Discipline

Alliance chat gets hectic during the Icepit, and noise costs you fights. Keep the main channel clear for combat-critical information.

  • Use private messages for anything that is not directly about the Icepit during the event.
  • Reserve alliance chat for scout reports, targets and coordination only.

6. Timing

Icepit contests typically open up later in the season — expect the push for the higher-tier pits to land around week 8 of the season. Have your troops healed, your squads sorted and your teleports ready before it begins.

Summary

The Icepit rewards alliances that stay organised under pressure. Kill the titan first, then loot the invaders. Keep your main squad safe, scout relentlessly, remove weak HQs fast, position your teleports by HQ level and keep alliance chat focused. Play smart, stay composed, and a Level 3 Icepit is within reach.
