About Z Tools

A free, community-built companion site for Last Z: Survival Shooter.

What is Z Tools?

Z Tools is a collection of interactive planners, trackers and reference guides for players of Last Z: Survival Shooter, a mobile zombie survival strategy game. The site exists to make the game's data legible — badge costs, tank wrench costs, building requirements, hero skills, event timings — so players can plan their progression instead of digging through patch notes.

Everything here is free to use. No account, no login, no email capture. Your progress is saved locally in your browser.

What's on the site

  • Alliance Duel Calendar — live 7-day event cycle with countdowns and 35+ timezones including Apocalypse Time.
  • Research Trees — all 9 trees, 94 nodes and 4,219,144 badges tracked per-level with progress saved locally.
  • Heroes — full skills for 26 heroes across Blood Rose, Guard of Order and Wings of Dawn factions, searchable by keyword.
  • Buildings — all 38 buildings with unlock requirements and 30-level upgrade cost tables.
  • HQ Levels — every HQ tier from 1 to 35 with resource costs, building prerequisites and hero level cap.
  • Tank Modifications — sub-level wrench tracker for all 49 Elite mods, 70,700 wrenches in total.
  • Lucky Discounter — event probability breakdown, pity tracker and draw simulator.
  • Wiki — 40+ strategy guides covering Capital Clash, VS Duel, Canyon Clash, looting, shields and more.

Who is this site for?

Z Tools is built for active players who want to plan more than guess. The interactive trackers (Research, Tank Modifications) assume you'll be opening the site repeatedly across weeks or months to mark progress. The reference tools (Heroes, Buildings, HQ Levels) are designed for quick spot-checks — what does this hero's skill actually do, how much zent does HQ 25 cost, when does the City Walls unlock? The wiki articles are for the longer reads: how Capital Clash actually works, how to position in Canyon Clash, when to break a shield.

Most users are between HQ 18 and HQ 30 — the point in progression where the game's UI hides important data behind grindy menus and where strategic decisions start to matter more than passive growth. Server 277 players will get the most out of the FiR3 alliance content; players on other servers will get the most out of the data-driven tools, which are server-agnostic.

Who runs Z Tools?

Z Tools is built and maintained by BD Digital Creations, a UK-based independent web development studio. The site began as a single event calendar for one alliance on Server 277 and grew into a broader toolkit as more features were requested by the community.

It's a personal side project rather than a commercial venture. Content is written from the perspective of active Server 277 players, so strategy notes reflect that server's current season — but the tooling (badge costs, hero skills, building levels) is general to the game and useful on any server. Game-data updates happen within a few days of each major patch.

How the site is built

Z Tools is a fast, static website delivered over HTTPS. There's no server-side database for users — tool progress saves to your browser's local storage. The site is designed to load quickly on mobile (under 2 seconds for the homepage on a budget Android), pass Core Web Vitals, and work without JavaScript wherever possible.

Accessibility is a first-class concern: every interactive element is keyboard-reachable, the colour palette meets WCAG 2.1 AA contrast, an accessibility panel lets users adjust font size, contrast, animations and cursor size, and a dyslexia-friendly font option is built in. The site is also translated into 19 languages — English, Spanish, Chinese (Simplified), Hindi, Arabic, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Polish, Ukrainian, Italian and Urdu — using a runtime DOM-walker translator that preserves game-specific proper nouns in their original form.

How we keep it free

Running the site has small costs (domain, hosting, development time). We cover those through:

  • Affiliate links (Hostinger, Proton VPN) that pay a small commission at no extra cost to you.
  • Voluntary donations via Ko-fi and PayPal if you'd like to support development directly.

No part of the site requires payment to access.
